 Outside Activities.  Explore.

 

Find your quiet spot—where you can spend 1 to 2 hours at a time outside.  Not a patio, not a porch.  Get to know this spot in detail.

 

Challenges:

Spend 30 minutes in your quiet spot at 3 different times in one day, take the same photo and describe the differences

Spend 30 minutes in your quiet spot on 3 consecutive days, take some photos and describe the differences

Spend 30 minutes in your quiet spot at the same time of day on September 1, October 1, and November 1.  Take some photos and describe the differences.

Walk for 30 minutes along an urban street and explore.  What startled you?  Take a photo and describe why you were startled

Walk for 30 minutes along an urban street and explore. What made you angry (or happy)?  Take a photo and describe why you felt angry (or happy).

Watch a sunrise, take a couple of photos, and describe what you saw

Watch a sunset, take a couple of photos, and describe what you saw

Stay outside in a rainstorm, take some photos, and describe what you experienced (please, not when there is thunder and lightning!)

Animal count, how many different animals can you observe in one day and describe them

Bird watching, how many different birds can you observe in one day and describe them

Take a photo of a lizard and describe it

Take a photo of the Horned Frogs at the Zoo and describe them (please note: there is a $16 entrance fee)

Take a photo of 5 or more animals at the Zoo that you have never seen before and describe them (please note: there is a $16 entrance fee)

Take photos of 5 or more insects in one day and describe them

Take photos of 5 or more trees, identify them with Plant Snap, and describe them

Take photos of 5 or more flowers, identify them with Plant Snap, and describe them

Take photos of 20 pieces of trash/litter around campus and pick it all up, describe how you feel

Find the Botanic Garden, take some photos, describe what you saw (please note, there is a $9.95 entrance fee)

Find a spot on the Trinity Trail by the river.  Spend 30 minutes there watching the current flow.  Take some photos and describe what you saw.
